To Our Honored Guests:

We have been pondering the subject of wedding gifts and wanted to let you all know our thoughts.   The long and short of it is that we don’t want you to feel obligated to give us a gift.  Our place is small, we have everything we need, and we feel that giving wedding gifts can sometimes be a burden, whether it’s financial, a dislike of shopping or another reason.

We are so grateful that you are taking the time to celebrate with us.  And we know that travel and accommodations are not inexpensive.  Your presence at the celebration of our marriage is the one gift we really want.

However, we also realize that for some, being urged not to give us a gift may diminish your sense of celebration, or may even be offensive.  To you we say, please follow your heart.  If you feel giving a gift is an essential part of celebrating our marriage, we will enjoy receiving it.

Whatever choice you do make, we will be most grateful that you are here with us.  We want the celebration of our marriage to be as joyful an occasion for all that it can be.

Love,

Jan and Kris
